CanAdventure
Education's wilderness adventure programs explore the most inspiring and educational wilderness
destinations on Vancouver Island, including the Johnstone
Strait, Cape Scott, Clayoquot Sound, the Gulf Islands,
Desolation Sound, Nootka Island, and Strathcona Provincial
Park. There are few other wilderness adventure program
locations in the world that can provide such inspiration
and motivation in a struggling teen program format.

CanAdventure
Education offers a therapeutic wilderness adventure
program that has proven benefits for struggling teen-agers
with low self-esteem, negative peer groups, a lack
of interest in school, problems with authority, and
in some cases, a history of substance abuse. Our curriculum
of experiential learning, skill development, cultural
awareness, personal growth, and therapeutic focus
sessions, provides an environment that has achieved
success in engaging struggling teen-agers in more
positive activities and interests. As a product of
the challenges they face in acquiring new skills and
knowledge, struggling teen participants also return
home more confident, self-reliant, and focused.

LEADERS-IN-TRAINING:
CanAdventure Education offers a Leaders-in-Training (LIT)
Program for developing eco-tourism professionals. Designed
as an ideal transition from wilderness adventure enthusiast
to a career in outdoor leadership, the program emphasizes
the development of outdoor leadership skills in a wilderness
adventure-learning context and offers a balance of formal
training, mentoring, and practical hands-on experience. Learn more...
