PARENT TESTIMONIALS
"GREAT
program layout for building self esteem, developing my sons
inherent talents and, MOST IMPORTANTLY, his wonderful loving
self. Each and every day, I allow myself to believe more
and more that my son has passed through his time of struggle,
confusion, drugs, etc. thanks to CanAdventure. If every
parent were as fortunate to have seen the same impact CanAdventure
had with their child as I did with mine, then I would say
GOOD NEWS will travel..."
I
was impressed by the focus of your mission to help these
kids. I was impressed by each of you. You are wonderful
people who care about these kids and have the ability to
reach them and teach them and bring them out and think.
THANK YOU so much! My son has come home a big step up in
maturity. He will give you eye contact now when speaking.
He speaks up and doesnt mumble huge improvements!
And the big thing is, I havent heard him say once
I cant do that. Hes learned he can!!
Hes running cross-country now going to school
at 6am -running- and a 2hr workout after school. No complaints.
You guys are awesome. You have a fabulous program the
way you teach and reach these kids is a real gift. Keep
it up!
"I
felt very pleased with how my daughter felt she became a
part of something, which in turn made her feel important.
There was such a good feeling of belonging due to all the
staff. It was very touching. I believe she is more able
to see herself as someone who can make a difference in herself
by making better choices. She sees as her actions as the
cause of direct consequences."
It
was an excellent process. My child came back more calm,
appreciative of life, and willing to be open and try to
come back and work at rejoining the family."
[My
daughter] and I may be going kayaking and of course she
will be my teacher.
She feels very proud to be able to teach me something. I
know the time you took to help my daughter has made a big
difference in all of our lives.
I am so glad to have
my daughter back. Thank you and tell everyone to keep up
the good work.
"I also told [my friend] what we learned in the 2 days at your camp and how valuable it was...
I want to thank all of you, I believe you saved my son's life, we still have alot of issues, but I hope with alot of love, attention and refocusing him on positive things, it will get better."
CAMPER REFLECTIONS
"Life
is a beautiful thing that people take advantage of by not
cherishing the moments that go by... Through hard times
and good times, living is making mistakes and learning from
them. Living is meeting people who make you laugh and make
you cry. But most of all, living is having new experiences
and learning something new every day. The feeling that many
people have not experienced is being happy with who you
are as a person and acknowledging your faults, trying to
make them better, being proud of who you are, not holding
back any desires, and living is being on your death bed
and having no regrets, no what-ifs."
"Nature
will speak to you in different ways. You just need to learn
and to listen. With every breeze from the wind and every
chirp from a bird, there is a message to be sent. With every
leaf that falls and bug that buzzes there is a message to
be sent."
"Little
Dave peering at his wall,
thinking of when his will fall,
waiting for the time he'll be able to get up.
He knew he needed someone to wake him up.
CAE then came and gave him a boost.
Finally he's got the gusto of himself to use.
Now the time is near where he'll need
to take in what he has here,
Strength in body, mind, spirit."
"My
highlights were going kayaking on beautiful waters, hiking
so long to get to a beautiful place. The company made it
even better. I learned a lot more in those five weeks than
in my whole life!! Just by experiencing, rather than reading
or just being told, a lot more is learned."
"I
feel more at peace with myself. I've learned more patience
and better ways to interact with people. And it's fun to
brag about what you've done."
"I
just want to share that my experience was priceless. There
is so much to be learned and there are people that help.
The most important thing is to go in with an open mind.
